Lambton Worm

Low Road.

Photo of Lambton WormA modern Wetherspoon's pub, opened in April 2003 as part of a city-centre Travelodge. Basically just a big square room but broken up with a central worm sculpture and a raised non-smoking area in one corner. Large toilets in the basement. In-line with Wetherspoons' policy this venue is strictly music-free. Always cheap drink prices and a good range of cocktails and pitchers.

Me and my family were going to see dirty dancing and my mam wanted to treat us to a meal. We reserved a table for 5:45 and when we went they forgot about our reservation and gave our table away! We had to then go somewhere else!

Nice pub but standing wating to be served whilst staff is serving those who want meals is ridiculous. Why dont they have a seperate part of the bar for food. 15 minutes I have waited.

As a party of 16 we think it is wrong that you can't be served with children for a drink before you have even looked at the menu for food, we were the first ones there waiting for the rest of our party. So we felt the need that we had to leave because we felt very embarrassed, sitting there with not even a drink we won't be returning. Also before this happened we were in the pub ourselves with no children and there was two three year old running around you're pub for at least a couple of hours and nothing was said.

Beefy, I was in this week and the Maximus cask beer was different class. The only place that topped it for this fine beer was the Queen Vic @ Roker another good spot for cask ales and reasonable, get some sea air in your nostrills !
